Cynthia Green - Biog
Cynthia Green is very young and good looking 60 years old. She was born in Bolton England and is a Team Manager/Deputy Superintendent Registrar for Births Deaths, Marriages and Civil Partnerships at Islington and London City Council. She has been in London for 24 years. Cynthia is also a Celebrant conducting Renewal of Vows, Commitment and Naming Ceremonies and has been doing this for over 27 years. She conducted the first same sex civil partnership ceremony in Islington in 2005 and made history by doing the first opposite sex civil partnership at midnight in the whole country in 2014. She also did the first and only ever scientology wedding! She has married over 20,000 couples to date!
She has become recognisable from all her television work in the last few years. The latest thing Cynthia has done is being a Celebrant on the new show “Love is Blind UK” which aired in August 2024. It has been so popular that it is returning for another series and Cynthia will be a key part of that too.
Before this, Cynthia was the registrar and wedding consultant on the programme “Married at First Sight UK” for CPL productions made for Channel 4 which has been a big hit for the channel and has grown in popularity since the first series aired in 2016. This was a social experiment where singletons were matched by science and ultimately married a stranger and Cynthia was responsible for marrying the couples. She went on to become an expert on the show and has been involved in five seasons so far.
Cynthia was also lead presenter on a programme titled “The Wedding House” for Betty Productions made for Channel 4 in 2010. This was an eight-part series and 24 themed weddings were conducted. She featured in OK! Magazine as one of the couples she married was Mario Marconi and Lisa Appleton from “Big Brother” so she was pictured in the magazine standing in between them and the series got lot of publicity. She also conducted the wedding ceremony on “Georgia and Tommy – Baby Steps” on ITVBe.
She registered a live wedding on the London Eye for GMTV on ITV which was broadcast in 2000 and she has featured in various other newspapers and magazines too, including the Daily Mirror and Take a Break magazine 11 years ago when she conducted her twin sister’s wedding. In 2011 Cynthia married a couple who won a competition in the Daily Mirror to mark the occasion of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
Cynthia has two children and three grandchildren. She lives in London with her fiancé, Milo (46), who she had a whirlwind romance with after they met 18 months ago at a party – he proposed after they had been together 10 months and they are planning to get married in Japan in December 2025.
