Sheila Gordhan - Biog
Sheila is a multi-lingual presenter with vast experience in the presenting and hosting sector.
Her experience covers a diverse range, from corporate to entertainment, and her strong educational background, including a Master’s degree in Linguistics, from University College London, has enabled her to present in an engaging, professional and educational way.
Her fluency in five languages - English, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi - has made her an avid and adaptive communicator.
Sheila has presented at a number of live corporate event ceremonies across the UK including the Hilton Park Lane with co-host, BBC’s Tommy Sandhu, as well as The Sheraton & The Grosvenor House Hotel. Other events include The Digital City Awards at the world famous Etihad football stadium and the Ideas for India Awards at The House of Commons.
Sheila has also hosted for the Loomba Foundation at Whitehall Banqueting Hall, introducing both Lady Cherie Blair and Sir Tony Blair. In recent years, she has presented at Silverstone for Formula One, The United Nations and Philips.
She has presented for online TV channel DistroTV, which has over 250 million viewers a month. Producing and presenting two weekly shows covering entertainment and lifestyle in the British Asian market, Sheila’s fusion of eastern and western content also included several documentaries, such as a piece entitled: 'The History of Asian cuisine in the UK.' With an accreditation from the Gemological Institute of America, she has most recently been a regular guest jewellery presenter for renowned shopping channel QVC.
As a passionate educator and advocate of NLP, yoga and mindfulness, Sheila regularly presents to young children and teenagers, not only on educational content but also on motivational aspects including mental health and well-being. Holding a Masters in Reiki also means that her knowledge in the sector of wellness is vast. With a natural affinity for public speaking, over the past decade, she has worked with individuals to help them strengthen their communication skills, their confidence and overall vocal projection.
Sheila has a wide knowledge of music, having written and recorded several singles including ‘Smile’ which peaked at number 1 in the US Dance Billboard charts in May 2016. Having worked with a number of successful producers like Si Hulbert (One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber), Sheila has confidently gone on to interview music artists for DistroTV, also producing and presenting a short documentary in 2020 entitled 'The Journey Of Brit Asian music.' In 2018, Sheila wrote a song for the United Nations Refugee Crisis called ‘Home,’ which aired across a number of mainstream channels, helping to raise funds as well as awareness for the campaign. Also with a diploma in screen acting from the International School of Screen Acting, and having trained with The Presenter Studio, Sheila’s understanding of camera work is in-depth; she has combined her acting and presenting skills for campaigns in the UK as well as for international organisations such as Companies Talks, which focuses on business storytelling in the form of entertaining monologues.
Sheila's versatility and her zest for life, coupled with her wide range of knowledge in a number of topics, means she can present confidently across diverse platforms.
